More product information :
A wonderful collection of fruit and flowers painted in 1736/7 by Dutch artist Jan van Huysum. The original painting hangs in The National Gallery, London and this is part of Ravensburger's National Gallery range of puzzles. The flowers, as is common in van Huysum's pictures, are of different seasons and most of them are depicted larger than at their natural size. The painting took over a year to complete because van Huysum waited for each flower or fruit to come into season, so he could accurately depict it in all its glory. The original painting is shaped (as can be seen on the puzzle image), so has been depicted against a panel of Flemish material of the same period. Includes in box leaflet with additional puzzle picture for reference and more information on the painting.
