This imaginary scene, painted by popular artist Trevor Mitchell, takes place in January 1967 where, on the eastern side of Coniston Water, a group of British car enthusiasts gather to watch Donald Campell practising for his attempt on his own world water speed record. We can see the amazing Bluebird powering across the water, piloted by the legendary Campbell, who at the time epitomised the very British values of hard work, fair play, determination and courage.
